Seven UNOH cars make feature at Volusia

BARBERVILLE, Fla. – With 74 DIRTcar UMP Modified cars entered in the first night of the UNOH DIRTCar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment, seven of the nine University of Northwestern Ohio cars made the feature, and five earned top-10 finishes.

 

Austin Dillon, Kenny Wallace, Kenny Schrader, Ty Dillon and UNOH student Kody Weisner all finished in the top-10 of the 20-lap feature on the half-mile track. Todd Sherman finished 15th in the feature, and UNOH student Josh Ulrich was 17th out of 28 cars.

 

The night at Volusia started with four-lap qualifiers, and Austin Dillon, Schrader and Wallace all recorded the fastest times in their qualifying groups. Ty Dillon, Weisner and Sherman were second in their groups, and Ulrich was third.

 

The eight-lap heat races transfer the top three drivers to the feature; Austin Dillon, Ulrich and Schrader were second in their respective heats, and Ty Dillon, Weisner, Sherman and Wallace were third in their heats.

 

Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Volusia. Check back with www.unohracers.com and www.dirtcarnationals.com for complete results.
