BARBERVILLE, Fla. – Kenny Wallace grabbed his second win in Florida on Wednesday, claiming victory in the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in a UNOH car. Wallace won Saturday at East Bay in Tampa.
Wallace has two UNOH students on his crew this week – Cody Bland and Lance Weppler. Bland and Kody Weisner were on his Wallace’s crew at East Bay.
“It’s exciting to be a part of his team. It’s nothing you can get in the classroom; the real-world experience is just priceless,” Bland said. “It’s pretty exciting, two wins.
“To have UNOH on the side of the car at the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals, it’s huge for him to get a win like this. He’s a great representative of the school.”
Wallace said of having UNOH students on his crew, “All of the UNOH students have a lot of talent. … That’s what I like about UNOH – they put the students in there, it’s like a super-internship.”
Four other drivers made the feature in UNOH cars – Kenny Scrader (fifth place), Ty Dillon (seventh), Austin Dillon (13th) and Todd Sherman (16th).
The four UNOH student drivers all finished their nights in the B-Main races. Chris Puskas was ninth and Travis Fleshman was 16th in the second B-Main, and Kody Weisner was fourth and Josh Ulrich ninth in the third B-Main.
