UNOH Business Professionals of America Students head to National Competition
The University of Northwestern Ohio chapter of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) will compete in the BPA national competition held April 25th through 28th in Chicago, IL.
Fourteen UNOH students, who all placed in the top 3 in their respective areas of expertise at the state competition held in February, will be judged on various business skills. The national competition includes both individual and team events, and all events are graded on a time test basis. Event subjects include management, marketing, human resources, accounting, finance, office management, and many computer competency events.
The UNOH students competing are: Nichole Barker – Lima, OH, Donald D’Addario – Whitting, NJ, Melissa Finch – Toledo, OH, David Hites – Elida, OH, Matthew Hunter – Lima, OH, Saige Meyer – Deshler, OH, Anthony Norton – Lima, OH, Devon Reiff – Elida, OH, Rita Schulze – New Bremen, OH, and Tabitha Shonk – Lakeview, OH. The University of Northwestern Ohio advisors are Dr. Robyn King and Professor Angela Bogart.
Business Professionals of America is a not-for-profit, co-curricular educational association of student members preparing for careers in business. The Business Professionals of America organization, formed in 1966, seeks to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. Currently, there are more than 600 BPA chapters nationwide at the College/University level.
