UNOH to Host Lima Elks #54 Youth Soccer Shoot
The University of Northwestern Ohio is proud to host the Lima Elks #54 Youth Soccer Shoot on Saturday May 12th, from 8:30am until 11:00am. The event will take place on the newly constructed UNOH Soccer Field just off Racers Way on the UNOH campus.
Registration for the event will begin at 8:30am with the competition lasting from 9:00am until 11:00am. There is NO COST to participate. The competition is open to the following age groups as of August 1st 2012: Boys and Girls – U-8, U-10, U-12, and U-14. There will be trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group with ribbons given to all participating shooters.
The Shoot will consist of two different challenges that test different skill levels of the participants. A “Five Goal Contest” will be for boys and girls in the U-8 and U-10 groups. This contest consists of a series of five goals, decreasing in size from 48 inches to 17 inches. The “Grid Goal Contest”, for boys and girls in the U-12 and U-14 groups, consists of a full-size goal sectioned off so points can be scored when the ball is kicked into certain sections.
Individual and Club participation is welcome from anyone in Allen, Auglaize, and Putnam County. First place winners will go on to District Competition. The winners there will travel to the State Competition.
